BRANDING

BRANDING

Branding is more than just a logo or a name, it’s a whole suite of collateral that helps build an identity and voice for a business, person or service.

I've had the pleasure of diving into the exciting world of branding in various roles throughout my career – whether as a freelancer, within organizations, or as part of an agency creative team.

This page shows a taste of my experience as a designer crafting brand experiences.

Rhodes Central
Brand pitch

Early in 2021, the agency I worked for was part of a tender to create a brand and marketing strategy for Rhodes Central located in metropolitan Sydney, NSW.

The target audience was an upper-middle-class and multicultural area who like to shop and dine close by to where they live. This center had a large range of dining options targeted at locals with a large disposable income so design decisions positioned the center with up-market dining options.

Working with the marketing manager and agency director, I designed the branding and its roll-out across various mediums such as large format signage, dining precinct logo design, website mock-ups, social media roll-out concepts, and centre merchandise.

Tauranga Crossing
Branding

In mid-2020, the agency I worked for pitched for and won the task of updating the branding for Tauranga Crossing Shopping Centre in New Zealand after its redevelopment. As the lead designer, I was heavily involved with creating mock-ups, defining branding elements, and materials to relaunch the centre.

Examples of collateral included designs for billboards, hoarding, merchandise, posters, branding updates for the website, newsletter, gift cards, etc.

Envious Hair
Branding and Website UI

As a freelancer, I was hired to design the logo and branding of a new salon business venture Envious Hair by Kellie. I aimed to capture the client’s bubbly personality through the use of bold and bright colours, which helped stand out from the other salons in the shopping strip where it was located in.

  • This website mock-up builds on the branding created for the appointment cards and social media posts. Stock imagery has been used for demonstration purposes and the functionality of the Request an appointment feature is only a proof of concept.

Some issues that may arise are the nature of booking appointments and how they often overlap with other clients depending on treatments. To combat this, all appointments requested online would receive a callback or text to confirm a booking.

Reclaim PV recycling brand guidelines & identity

In late 2020 I worked with the startup Reclaim PV Recycling on new branding, brand guidelines, and the roll-out of printed and digital Collateral for their November relaunch into the market. Reclaim PV operated Adelaide's first solar panel recycling facility and became heavily involved with industry and councils as the uptake of solar power grew across the country.
